Pakistan Steel Mills has announced 3 bonuses, 15 percent increase in basic salary and 20 percent increase in hazard allowance with effect from July 1, 2005.

Pakistan Steel management has also confirmed 25 assistant managers and upgraded to contract jobs 421 daily-wages workers, which is in addition to 646 workers confirmed earlier. Eighteen families of deceased PS employees, including 6 daily wage workers, have been allotted plots.

Gulshan-e-Hadeed Phase-III housing scheme has also been announced for PS employees. Besides work on Phase-IV has already been initiated.

This was announced by Chairman Pakistan Steel, Lieutenant General Abdul Qayyum (Retd) while addressing an Iftar gathering of the mills employees at PS metallurgical training centre (MTC), here on Friday.

On the occasion, the best efficiency trophy awards were announced. First award went to Hot Strip Mill for its best production, results and second and third prizes were achieved by Cold Rolling Mill and Billet Mill respectively.

PS Cadet College Principal, Zaheer Malik was given a special award for best results. Out of 89 students of cadet college, 66 got (A plus) grade while remaining 23 were placed in (A) grade in the board examinations.

The chairman announced Rs 100 million donation for President's Special Relief Fund.
